After obtaining his MD, Max Baud studied sleep physiology in rodents during his PhD at EPFL, Switzerland. He then moved to San Francisco to train in neurology and studied epilepsy focusing on intracranial electrophysiology and long-term monitoring. He is now an epileptologist back in Switzerland.
